On the 3rd Anniversary of Shock and Awe, Hundreds Call on Bush to End the War

On a cool and overcast day at Forest Park, approximately 900 activists and concerned citizens joined together to call on President Bush to Stop the War and Feed the People. The event marked the third anniversary of the beginning of the war on Iraq.
Participants gathered at the Worlds Fair Pavilion and were joined by participants of six feeder marches from different locations in and around Forest Park. Separate marches included a women's march, an interfaith march, an artists and performers march, a union and labor march, a student and faculty march and a children's peace parade. Exhibits from several different peace, social justice and public service organizations were on display in the Pavilion.

Dr. Rashad Zidan of Baghdad, Iraq described what "democracy" looks like today in Iraq and called for cooperation between the people of the U.S. and Iraq to bring the occupation to an end.
