Speak Out NOW against War with Iran!
As unbelievable as it seems, with a national election only weeks away, our sources in Washington continue to warn that the Bush Administration is making preparations for a military strike against Iran... We cannot wait any longer to prevent a calamitous and unprovoked attack against Iran. As a first step in the process of rallying the public to oppose such an insane - but for this adminstration, all too possible - action, please sign this "No War with Iran" petition.

New Instead of War yard sign

This is a sturdy, all-weather, two-sided yard sign. The other side reads "Instead of War / Invest in People", in blue and white. These yard signs, with stakes, cost $6 and are available weekdays at the World Community Center, 438 N. Skinker, and at the peace vigil, every Sunday, 7 to 7:30 pm at Grand and Lindell. We also still have yard signs reading "Feed the People / Not the War" on one side and "Instead of War / Work for Justice" on the other.

"Soldiers are not renewable" —
Activist challenges Bush in St. Louis

Laurie Meier, a local artist and activist, interrupted President Bush's "renewable energy" speech in St. Louis Thursday afternoon, to challenge the Administration's war in Iraq, calling "Out of Iraq now!" and "Soldiers are not renewable!" She is a member of Code Pink, St. Louis, a women's peace group, and the Instead of War Coalition. She was arrested and booked by the St. Louis Police on a charge of "disturbing the peace."
