* Women in Black was started in 1988 by Israeli Jewish, Arab & Palestinian women in Jerusalem, holding silent vigils against the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land. Since then, Women in Black have held weekly vigils in various areas in Israel. Women in Black groups now exist all over the world.
