The Real Choice in Iraq
You don't get much more Establisment than Zbig, national security adviser to President Jimmy Carter, architect of the Soviet "Afghan Trap," and pre-9/11/01 advocate for US colonization of Afghanistan (see his 1997 book "The Grand Chessboard").
If he says we can be out by the end of '06, then we will have the ear of a good chunk of the Establishment. Let's not wait for the next (P)resident to end it...

Who Killed Tom Fox? Why and What's the Reason For?

If you're a fan of Bob Dylan, you'll remember his anti-boxing song, "Who Killed Davey Moore?" Burnett uses this refrain to examine the life and pacifist position of Tom Fox, hence - "Who Killed Tom Fox? Why and whats the reason for?"

War anniversaries are dangerous things. As I read about the marches and rallies being planned for this weekend and the coming weeks, and receive myriad requests to add my name to online petitions or to email my representatives, I have one, clear, overwhelming feeling. We cannot afford to “celebrate” yet one more milestone in this horrific “Long War” so quietly.

The U.S. Role in Iraq's Sectarian Violence
The sectarian violence which has swept across Iraq following last month's terrorist bombing of the Golden Mosque in Samara is yet another example of the tragic consequences of the U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq. Until the 2003 U.S. invasion and occupation, Iraq had maintained a longstanding history of secularism and a strong national identity among its Arab population despite its sectarian differences.
