The following is a non-exhaustive collection of resources that are useful for researching and understanding the various changes wrought by the USA Patriot Act.
- Full Text of the "Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001," H.R. 3162, 107th Congress (a/k/a USA PATRIOT Act)
- History, Overview and Analysis of the USA Patriot Act by the Electronic Privacy Information Center
- Summary & Analysis of USA PATRIOT Act and Patriot Act II by the ACLU
- American Library Association (ALA) Patriot Act Resources and ALA's Resolution in opposition to the Patriot Act
- Congressional Research Service (CRS) Report for Congress RL31200, Section by Section Analysis of the USA PATRIOT Act, updated December 10, 2001 (PDF - 410KB)
- Web home of the Bill of Rights Defense Committee, a national organization focused on educating the public and bringing about change to the USA PATRIOT Act
Anything we missed that should be here?

Patriot Act Working Group is now part of the St. Louis Bill of Rights Defense Committee
In keeping with the mission of the Patriot Act Working Group, this committee has become co-founder and member of the St. Louis Bill of Rights Defense Committee (SLBORDC), in cooperation with several other politically active organizations that are not otherwise associated with Instead of War. The SLBORDC represents a broad coalition of citizens from across the political spectrum who share our concern with the USA Patriot Act and the threat it poses to our civil liberties. Of particular concern are provisions of the Patriot Act which encourage the violation of civil liberties by local law enforcement at the behest of federal authorities.
The SLBORDC has created a flyer to help educate the public about some of the more troubling provisions of the Act. The flyer is available for download and distribution here (Adobe PDF format).
